A New Note-Taking App for iOS: Qept, the Perfect Solution for DM-to-Yourself Phenomenon

Introducing Qept: The Innovative Note-Taking App for iOS

In today’s digital era, it has become common for people to use messaging apps as a means to send things to themselves. Recognizing this phenomenon, developer Willem de Beijer has created Qept, a new note-taking app designed specifically with the “DM-to-yourself” practice in mind.

Streamlined Organization and Editing

The developer asserts that while popular chat apps offer self-texting capabilities, Qept surpasses them when it comes to note organization and editing. Qept allows you to effortlessly create to-do lists, making it simple to plan for tasks or groceries.

Ease of Use

Similar to any chat app, Qept enables you to start typing and hit “send” to create a note or jot down a thought. The app conveniently includes a checkmark sign above the textbox, making it easy to create checklists or to-do lists. While adding a “Topic” enhances organization, it is not mandatory.

Efficient Timeline Navigation

All notes, with or without a topic assigned, are displayed in the home timeline. Users can even edit notes after they have been sent to the timeline. De Beijer has promised that future updates will allow users to hide or collapse notes from a topic, as well as effortlessly toggle the visibility of archived notes with a single tap.

Exciting Upcoming Features

Over the next few weeks, the developer plans to roll out updates that will enhance the visual appearance and navigation of Qept. This includes the addition of a filter for archived notes and the ability to add reminders and bullet points as formatting options. Furthermore, De Beijer intends to release a Mac app later this year, complete with features such as note search, bulk edits, and support for rich links.

Pricing and Pro Features

Qept is available for free download. However, to have more than three topics, users must subscribe to the paid version at $7.99 per month. De Beijer has also mentioned that he plans to introduce additional pro features in the future, such as image and file support.

Qept vs. Stashpad

In terms of functionality, Qept is similar to Stashpad, a note-taking app that garnered $1.8 million in funding last year. Stashpad, however, caters more to developers and restricts free usage across devices to 50 notes. For unlimited note sync and access to pro features, users can opt for Stashpad’s paid plan at $10 a month or $96 a year. Qept, on the other hand, is an ideal free option for users seeking basic note-taking capabilities and heavily rely on checklists to stay organized and productive.

Conclusion

With its user-friendly interface and focus on efficient note organization, Qept presents itself as a valuable tool for individuals who frequently utilize messaging apps to communicate with themselves. By offering a streamlined alternative to popular chat apps, Qept ensures a seamless note-taking experience for iOS users.
