iPhone 14 has a MagSafe upgrade that you don’t know about
Apple didn’t say that the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro have any major MagSafe upgrades, but at least one model can charge faster and for longer than its predecessor.
MagSafe has been around since the iPhone 12 series came out, but it hasn’t changed much. It can still only charge up to 20W, but some tests show that, at least for the iPhone 14 Pro Max, it can charge faster than last year’s model.
ChargerLAB did that test by charging an iPhone 13 Pro Max and an iPhone 14 Pro Max with a regular Apple MagSafe charger. ChargerLAB then measured how much power each iPhone could draw from the charger. They found that the newer model could keep charging faster for longer.
This was shown even more because it took an iPhone 14 Pro Max two hours and 18 minutes to charge to 100%. The iPhone 13 Pro Max took 2 hours and 26 minutes. This isn’t a big difference, but it does show that the newer iPhone can charge faster, at least for longer.

For Android phones, these are tricks to get rid of annoying messages
To combat annoying and even harmful messages and calls, every Android phone has powerful tricks that you should know about.
First: Spam Android Call Filter
You can use a feature called Caller ID and protect yourself from spam emails.
When you make or receive a call with Caller ID and Spam Protection, you can get caller information, caller activity, or spam caller alerts.”
To use Caller ID and protect yourself from spam, your phone needs to send information about your calls to Google.
If someone outside your contact list calls you or you call them, that phone number will be sent to Google to help identify your business caller ID name or determine if the call is spam, according to The Sun.
that’s how
To activate this feature, on Android, touch More options, then touch Settings, then Spam and calls screen.
Next, make sure See Caller ID & Spam is turned on.
Additionally, you can also choose to automatically filter spam calls to block them.
This will also prevent missed call notifications and voicemails for spam calls.
You can check your blocked call history by accessing your call history or checking your voicemail.
Second: fight spam
You can also report spam to Google, which should limit the amount of spam you get.
When you report a conversation as spam, automatically block the sender and hide the message.
To do this, open the Messages app, then touch and hold the conversation you want to report.
Click Block (report as spam) OK.
The spammer’s phone number will be reported to Google, along with the spammer’s last 10 messages.
Google won’t tell the spammer that you reported them.

Russian scientists create a new system to fight cancer
Scientists from Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics have created a new system for improving the quality of cancer treatment, which allows doctors to control the patient’s response to treatment.
Thermal therapies that use temperatures of 43-45 degrees Celsius are currently being tested around the world to kill cancer cells and increase the chances of recovery, the researchers said.
Experts note that the methods of temperature increase and thermal ablation (heating the tumor to 60°C and above) have not yet become widespread in clinical practice due to the lack of reliable technical solutions for precise control over the procedure.
A team of scientists from the laboratory of biomedical technologies of the Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics managed to create a unique complex for hyperthermia and thermal ablation, which is completely safe for the patient.
Denis Bakhmurin, Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Electronics of the University, says: “Our method differs in that electromagnetic and electric fields, sound waves and active beams do not pass through the patient’s body. circulates and heats up in the heater, and heat enters only the tissues of the patient’s body.
The researchers add that this innovative compound has no analogues in the world, and doctors from the Oncology Research Institute of the Tomsk National Medical Research Center began to use it, since thermal ablation operations were performed on about 30 patients suffering from bone tumors, all of which were successful, in the area there were no relapse effects.

"The oldest example of the brain" Contrary to expectations!
A newly discovered brain in a 525-million-year-old arthropod fossil appears to be the oldest ever found and could end the ongoing debate about how brains first evolved in invertebrates.
And it was found in a family of small, armored lobes known as the Cardiodictyon catenulum. Surprisingly, the brain survived and consisted of three different components of the nervous system.
This is significant because it indicates that the brain developed separately from the head and nervous system.
It was previously thought that the brains of these creatures were divided into repetitive pieces of neural structures called ganglia, just like the nervous system in the torso.
“This anatomy was completely unexpected because the heads and brains of modern arthropods and some of their fossil ancestors have been considered fragmentary for more than a century,” says neuroscientist Nicholas Strausfeld of the University of Arizona.
The fossil was discovered in the southern province of Yunnan in China in the late 1980s.
Because the fossil is only 1.5 cm (0.6 in) in diameter, the team was unable to take an x-ray of it. Instead, they used a technique called chromatic filtering, in which a series of high-resolution digital images are used to filter light of different wavelengths and display internal structure.
Then the shape of the naked head and brain was compared with the shape of other fossil modern arthropods and the nature of their gene expression. The comparison shows that the same pattern of brain organization has been preserved for half a billion years.
“We have determined the common imprint of all brains and how they formed,” says evolutionary neuroscientist Frank Hirt of King’s College London. “We realized that each region of the brain and its corresponding functions are determined by the same set of genes, regardless depending on which species we were looking at.” “This determines the overall genetic blueprint for the creation of the brain.”
Arthropods are the richest group in the animal kingdom, including a range of insects, crustaceans, spiders, centipedes, and centipedes. And after lobotomy appeared in the arthropod, which in Greek means “true arthropod foot,” the main difference was where evolution went.
Descendants of these creatures live today in velvet worms native to Australia, New Zealand and South America, but the researchers believe their approach could be applied to a variety of species other than arthropods.
It will also be interesting to compare the new data with what we know about the development of the brain and spinal cord in vertebrates. Finally, the researchers say their study sheds light on how nature survives during times of massive change and what we stand to lose if we don’t get the climate crisis under control.
The study was published in the journal The science.

Twitter: We will not enforce the COVID-19 misinformation policy
Twitter has reversed a policy aimed at countering COVID-19 misinformation on its platform, opening up the risk of a possible wave of false claims despite a rise in cases in China and in some parts of the world.
The move also comes in light of concerns about Twitter’s ability to fight disinformation after the company, under the leadership of new chairman Elon Musk, laid off about half of its employees, including those responsible for content management, according to Reuters.
In an update posted by the company on its page, it states that “effective November 23, 2022, Twitter will no longer enforce its COVID-19 misinformation policy.” CNN was first reporting this update on Tuesday.
While it is not yet clear what exactly the procedures will be abandoned by Twitter. The company did not respond to a request for more information.
“Civil Integrity Policy”
Interestingly, at the start of the pandemic in 2020, Twitter took a number of measures, including flagging and warning messages about tweets that contain controversial information about the health crisis, and also established a framework forcing users to delete tweets that make malicious false vaccine claims.
Facebook, owned by Meta, and Google and YouTube, owned by Alphabet, have taken similar steps that are still in force.
Twitter also said at the beginning of questSince March 2021, it has stopped enforcing its “civil integrity policy” regarding lies related to the 2020 US presidential election.
Several changes
Interestingly, billionaire Musk acquired Twitter on Oct. 27 for $44 billion and moved quickly to make several changes to him and his staff.
On October 29, he said he would form a content management board whose members would have “very different viewpoints”.

Small bomb.. American long-range weapons are intended for the Ukrainian army
The American television channel Fox News spoke about modern long-range ground weapons, which are expected to be supplied by the United States to Ukraine.
The channel said it was a system it called “Small Diameter Ground Bomb” with a range of 150 km. This is the GLSDB model. This will allow Ukrainian forces to bomb targets deep within Russian territory.
It is produced, according to the channel, by the Swedish company SAAB in cooperation with the American company Boeing. Experts from the two companies say the bomb is capable of passing through some electronic interference and can be used based on GPS satellite navigation from ground platforms against armored vehicles in all weather conditions.
It is noteworthy that the United States plans to supply these small diameter bombs not only to Ukraine, but also to its allies in Eastern Europe.
It is reported that the system includes a GBU-39 small diameter bomb and an M26 rocket engine. The bomb is equipped with small wings that allow it to hover in the direction of the target.
Work on the design of the GLSDB ground system has been underway since 2019. Several copies were made, but it is impossible to expect a rapid increase in its production volumes due to legislative difficulties and problems with the supply of spare parts. parts.
Nevertheless, Kyiv expects to deliver these weapons by the spring of next year.

I’ve done it before… Can Apple stop Twitter on its phones?
A “mini-war” or preventive, apparently waged in the past few hours by the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, against the tech giant Apple, causing a great surprise, announcing that questlast had blocked the Twitter application for the month since store “App Store”.
Can the smartphone company really take that step?
It’s that easy!
We could find the answer to this question in previous tweets from Musk himself, where he announced a few days ago that if Apple or Google banned the “blue bird”, they would be working on making a “new phone”!
His answer came after this idea was first suggested to him by Liz Wheeler (the podcaster), writing in one tweet: “If Apple and Google ban Twitter from their stores, Musk should produce his own smartphone.”
If Apple and Google start Twitter from their app stores, @Elon Musk should produce your own smartphone. Half the country would happily abandon the biased and nosy iPhone and Android. Man builds rockets to mars, stupid smartphone should be easy, right?
— Liz Wheeler (@Liz_Wheeler) November 25, 2022
“Half of the country’s population would happily give up their intrusive iPhones and Androids,” he added. And she added: “Man makes rockets that land on Mars. It must be very easy for him to produce a small smartphone, right?”
I will definitely produce a replacement phone
To immediately receive a response from Musk, who says: “I certainly hope that does not happen, but if I have no other choice, I will definitely produce an alternative phone!”
Perhaps this is a preliminary indication of the possibility or possibility that Apple or Google will actually make a decision to ban Twitter.
I’ve done this before..but
As for the other sign, it lies in the previous steps taken by Apple in this context.
Last January (2021) it had already banned the “parler” application, considered a “home” for conservatives from the Republican Party and a haven for supporters of former US President Donald Trump.
And he justified his decision, which came at the time, days before Trump supporters stormed the famous Capitol in Washington, that the app violated Apple’s rules and promoted violence and hatred.
He also confirmed at the time that he refuses to give space in his stores to promote violent and illegal activities.
And he felt that Parler hadn’t taken adequate steps to deal with the spread of these threats, so he had no choice but to block it.
However, Apple came back and lifted this ban months later!
Which means Apple has the right or can at least ban Twitter.
But the matter is not so simple with an “application” as powerful and effective as Twitter, because banning it could open a large and heated legal dispute and debate in the United States and in other countries, and may even prompt Congress to intervene in tale important issue relating to “freedom of expression”.
However, the giant company can, for example, delay the release schedules of any new features, for example, that Musk might introduce on Twitter, and thus disturb the “bluebird” and further delay its expansion and development projects.
It is reported that since the controversial man took over the popular Twitter platform late last month (October), Twitter has failed in many storms.
Several large companies have temporarily suspended their ads on the platform, such as General Motors, Mondelez International, Volkswagen and recently Apple, among others.
This month, the company laid off half of its workforce in the team communication, content management, human rights, and machine learning ethics, as well as a few team of manufacturing and engineering.

Turkey.. Discovery of a 3200-year-old perforated skull
Archaeologists in the Turkish province of Van have discovered a 3,200-year-old skull with a triangular hole, indicating that its owner had undergone trepanation.
Arkeonews points out that excavations and excavations began in the area in 2016, during which archaeologists found many skeletons and skulls in a cemetery dating back to the early Iron Age.
According to the site, the process of piercing the skull is one of the oldest medical procedures, as it has been performed for thousands of years, and archaeologists have found similar skulls in Europe, Africa and China.
And the “doctors” in ancient times considered this process a cure for various diseases, including craniocerebral injuries. Some scholars believe that this process was used to expel spirits from the body.
Scientists have not been able to understand whether the owner of the skull found in Turkey recovered after the operation or died because of it. The scientists also did not specify whether this process was carried out due to health problems or is part of some kind of ritual, and most likely they will not be able to do this.

6 million iPhones are threatened by protests in China
Sources suggest that unrest at Apple’s main manufacturing hub in the Chinese city of Zhengzhou would lead to a production shortage of about 6 million units of iPhone Pro in 2022, according to “Bloomberg” and seen by “Al Arabiya”. .net”.
A source told Bloomberg that the situation remains fluid at the plant and the production loss estimate could change. It will depend on how quickly Foxconn Technology Group, the Taiwanese company that manages the facility, can get workers back on the assembly lines after violent protests against Covid restrictions. He predicted that if lockdowns continue in the coming weeks, output could decline further.
Thousands of employees fled in October after chronic food shortages, to be replaced by new employees who rebelled against wages and quarantine practices.
Foxconn facility produces the vast majority of iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max devices, which are Apple’s most in-demand devices quest’year.
Apple has reportedly lowered its total production goal to around 87 million units from a previous forecast of 90 million units.
Apple and Foxconn have both raised their shortage estimates in Zhengzhou over the past two weeks amid growing unrest, the source said, adding they expect they can recover the 6 million units in lost production in 2023.
Morgan Stanley analysts earlier this month estimated a shortage of the iPhone Pro model at around 6 million units questyear, although that was before violence erupted in Zhengzhou last week.
Foxconn’s massive manufacturing complex houses up to 200,000 workers during the peak iPhone manufacturing season. More than 20,000 new employees have reportedly left since the protests.
Another person familiar with assembly operations said that the departure of new workers is no more a factor in production than the quarantine imposed on existing employees due to their experience and skills. Foxconn is actively hiring more workers, with the help of government officials.
The Taiwanese firm, China’s largest private employer, has years of experience hiring tens of thousands of assembly workers, especially during peak seasons.

"Nanomedicine 50,000 times smaller than an ant delivers treatments directly to tumors!
Scientists have developed a cure for cancer that is 50,000 times smaller than that of an ant, and they hope it will be a breakthrough.
Nanovectors, microscopic particles invisible to the human eye, are being used to deliver new immunotherapeutics and existing chemotherapy drugs.
Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh hope the treatment will ease some of the side effects associated with traditional cancer treatments.
The new treatment works by stopping the production of an immune protein that is inhibited in cancer patients and allows tumors to grow and spread.
It also delivers a super-targeted dose of chemotherapy directly to the cancer through a swarm of nanoparticles that attach to the tumor itself.
Chemotherapy works by killing fast-growing cancer cells, but often mistakenly attacks normal cells in other parts of the body, causing serious side effects.
This lack of specificity also means that chemotherapy can leave cancer cells behind, which will begin to multiply again and may lead to a relapse.
And in a study of mice with colon and pancreatic cancer, treatment “significantly” reduced tumor size.
“Our research has two innovative aspects: the discovery of a new therapeutic target and a new nanocarrier that is highly effective in the selective delivery of immunotherapeutic and chemotherapeutic drugs,” said Dr. Song Li, Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. “We don’t yet know if our approach works in patients, but our results show it has a lot of potential.”
In a study published in the journal Nature Nanotechnology, the Pittsburgh team developed a new immunotherapy called siRNA that turns off a protein called Xkr8.
In people with cancer, chemotherapy causes small molecules known as the lipid phosphatidylserine (PS) to move from the inner layer of cancer cell membranes to the cell surface.
PS acts as an immunosuppressant on the surface, protecting trapped cancer cells from the immune system.
The team discovered that Xkr8 is the gene involved in this process in a separate study last year.
Nanotherapy works in two ways: by turning off Xkr8 and then delivering chemotherapy directly to the tumor.
And when tested in mice, those who received the exact treatment produced more cancer-fighting T cells.
In contrast, mice treated with chemotherapy and immunotherapy showed a significant reduction in tumor size compared to mice treated with only one treatment.

Get this 16-inch MacBook Pro from Amazon for only $1,999 on Cyber Monday
If you’ve wanted to buy a 16-inch MacBook Pro, Amazon is the best place to do so for only $1,999.99.
Because of its size, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is one of the most popular MacBooks. Usually, though, Apple would charge you $2,499 for the most basic configuration in the range.
During the Black Friday to Cyber Monday weekend, Amazon has a deal where you can get one for much less money, just below the $2,000 mark. With a 20% discount that takes almost $500 off the price, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is now only $1,999.99, a savings of nearly $500.
In the available configurations, the M1 Pro has a 10-core CPU and a 16-core GPU, as well as 16GB of unified memory and 512GB of SSD storage. Even though it has no upgrades, it’s not a slouch. It gives users a lot of performance in a small, portable package.
The discount makes the normal price of the entry-level 16-inch MacBook Pro the same as the normal price of the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro.
Amazon has yet to say how long the discount on the model would last, but since it’s a sales weekend, it’s probably not for long and will probably only last as long as there are still units in stock. In the 16-inch MacBook Pro Price Guide, you can find dozens of other deals on MacBook Pros, with discounts of up to $600.

Russia is in the process of developing new technologies for"green energy"
Scientists at the Russian University “Vyatka” have developed a complete technological cycle for the production of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and selected active materials for their synthesis.
According to scientists, the results of their study will be required when creating a new generation of Russian power plants.
Researchers at Vyatka University believe that in order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, it is necessary to achieve a transition to “green energy”. This is one of the most important tasks defined in the energy strategy of Russia until 2035.
University scientists are working on the creation of highly efficient and environmentally friendly sources of electricity based on solid oxide fuel cells, which are a multilayer structure consisting of ceramic and composite materials.
Anton Kozmi, head of the Department of Technology of Inorganic Materials and Electrochemical Production at Vyatka University, said: “We have developed a set of technological methods and processes necessary to form a single fuel cell, power and fuel utilization factor.
At the first stage, scientists obtain porous cermet tubes that act as anodes (negative electrodes). Thin layers of electrolyte and electrode materials are applied to the prepared substrates by dipping them into compositions specially selected for this purpose. After applying each layer, a multi-stage heat treatment process is carried out.
According to the researchers, there are 6 layers of this type, each of which performs its own function. Scientists can modify various characteristics of the layers, such as material composition, powder size, suspension viscosity, and temperature, to achieve optimum operating parameters. This technology allows the use of a single fuel cell that uses maximum energy.
Experts say that new materials for electrodes have been obtained. For example, composite materials for the anode layer have a resistivity half that of standard commercial products. This will allow in the future to increase the size of a single fuel cell and reduce losses during its replacement.
Researchers believe that the most difficult task is the transition from individual samples to finished prototypes of industrial products. The scientific team of the university is now working on finding technical solutions that make it possible to apply the technology in industrial production, including from the point of view of economic feasibility.
It is noteworthy that work on the development of SOFC energy sources and fuel cells is being carried out at the Vyatka Provincial University as part of the Ecology project of the Priority 2030 Strategic Academic Leadership Program.

Tesla recalls about 13,000 auto Model 3
The producer of auto Electric companies Tesla has started recalling 12,863 auto Model 3 in China, citing potential safety risks from wearing seat belts.
The recall affects 2,736 auto imported produced between 12 January 2019 and 22 November 2019 and 10,127 auto produced in China between October 14, 2019 and September 26, 2022, according to a statement provided by Tesla to the China National Market Regulatory Authority.
The statement indicated that the auto recalled are those whose center seat belt for the second row seat has been installed in improperly during repair or maintenance post-sale.
It is suspected that when the service centers reinstalled the seat belts, they may not have installed some of the fastening parts of the belt clips with the anchor bolts, which may lead to the failure of the seat belt restraint role in case of a collision.

What would dinosaurs look like today if they hadn’t gone extinct?
66 million years ago, an asteroid with the force of 10 billion atomic bombs crashed into Earth and changed the course of evolution.
The sky darkened and the plants stopped photosynthesizing. The plants withered and then the animals that fed on them died. The food chain collapsed and over 90% of all species disappeared. When the dust settled, all dinosaurs became extinct except for a handful of birds.
But this cataclysmic event, in turn, made human evolution possible. The rest of the mammals, including small primitive primates, thrived.
Let’s imagine that an asteroid flew past the Earth, and the dinosaurs were spared. Imagine highly developed birds of prey. Here, dinosaur relativist scientists discover or discuss a hypothetical world in which mammals incredibly dominated Earth.
This may sound like bad science fiction, but it raises some deep philosophical questions about evolution. Humanity is here by chance? Brain, tools, language and large social groups make us the dominant species on planet Earth. There are 8 billion sane people on seven continents. And there are more people by weight than all land animals.
What would dinosaurs look like today if they had never died out? https://t.co/14pjSJd3Oc
— ScienceAlert (@ScienceAlert) November 25, 2022
And we changed half the land area to feed ourselves. It can be objected that beings like humans must have evolved.
And in the 1980s, paleontologist Dale Russell proposed a thought experiment in which a carnivorous dinosaur turned into a gadget user.
This is not impossible, but unlikely, since animal biology limits the direction of their evolution.
And if you drop out of college, you probably won’t become a neurosurgeon, lawyer, or rocket scientist at NASA. But you can be an artist, an actor, or an entrepreneur. The paths we walk in life open some doors and close others. This is true for evolution as well.
Pay attention to the sizes of dinosaurs. Starting with the Jurassic dinosaurs and sauropods, brontosaurs and their relatives evolved into 30-50-ton giants up to 30 meters long – ten times the weight of an elephant and the length of a blue whale.
This has occurred in several groups, including diplodosids, brachiosaurids, triasaurids, mammansaurids, and titanosaurids.
And this happened on different continents, at different times and in different climates, from deserts to tropical forests. But other dinosaurs that lived in these conditions did not become supergiants.
Carnivorous dinosaurs repeatedly evolved into huge predators, ten meters long and weighing several tons. Over the course of 100 million years, megalosaurs, allosaurs, carcharodontosaurus, neovenatorians, and finally tyrannosaurs evolved as giant apex predators.
And dinosaurs were pretty good at handling big bodies. Dinosaurs showed a slight tendency to increase in brain size over time. Jurassic dinosaurs such as Allosaurus, Stegosaurus and Brachiosaurus had small brains.
By the Late Cretaceous, 80 million years later, dinosaurs and platypuses had developed larger brains. But, despite its size, the brain of a Tyrannosaurus rex weighs only 400 grams. The brain of a Velociraptor weighed 15 grams. The average human brain weighs 1.3 kilograms.
Dinosaurs eventually entered new domains. Smaller herbivores have become more common, and birds have become more diverse. Long-legged forms appeared later, indicating a race between long-legged predators and their prey.
Dinosaurs seem to lead increasingly complex social lives. They began to live in packs and developed elaborate antlers for fighting and display. However, dinosaurs seem to basically repeat themselves, turning into giant herbivores and carnivores with small brains.
And nearly 100 million years of dinosaur history hints that they would have done something radically different if an asteroid had not intervened. And we probably still have those giant, long-necked herbivores and tyrannosaur-like carnivores.
They may have developed slightly larger brains, but there is little evidence that they turned into geniuses. It is also unlikely that it was displaced by mammals. Dinosaurs monopolized their habitats to the end, until an asteroid crashed.
Meanwhile, mammals had various limitations. Giant herbivores and carnivores never evolved. But they developed big brains again and again. Megaminds (bigger or larger than ours) have evolved in killer whales, sperm whales, baleen whales, elephants, leopard seals and monkeys.
Today, some descendants of dinosaurs—birds such as crows and parrots—have complex brains. They can use tools, speak and count. But it is mammals like monkeys, elephants and dolphins that have developed the largest brains and most complex behaviors.
And the evolutionary history of the great apes suggests that our evolution was not deterministic at all. When monkeys arrived in South America 35 million years ago, they evolved into other types of monkeys. Primates arrived in North America at least three times: 55 million years ago, 50 million years ago and 20 million years ago.
In Africa, and only in Africa, primate evolution has taken a unique direction. Something in the fauna, flora and geography of Africa influenced the evolution of great apes: terrestrial, large-bodied, large-brained, tool-using primates.
Even after the extinction of the dinosaurs, our evolution required the right mix of chance and luck.
The report was prepared by Nicholas R. Longrich, Senior Lecturer in Paleontology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Bath.

Musk warns Apple and Android to ban Twitter..I’ll make a new smartphone
The businessman and owner of ‘Twitter’ has said that he will make a special smartphone if ‘Google’ and ‘Apple’ ban ‘Twitter’ from their application stores. Musk said in a tweet in response to conservative broadcaster Liz Wheeler that she hopes the situation does not reach that point, but that she will make that decision if necessary. “I certainly hope it doesn’t come to that, but yeah, if there’s no other choice, I’ll make a replacement phone,” she said.
Wheeler proposed the idea first, saying half the country would “happily abandon the spying and bias of the iPhone and Android.” He tweeted: “Man building rockets to mars, tiny smartphone would be easy, right?”
Musk, who calls himself the “absolute” of free speech, has expressed his public opposition to the indefinite ban on Twitter accounts and recently lifted the bans on former President Donald and Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Several advertisers have fled Twitter after completing Musk’s takeover of the platform last month. Musk has cut almost half of the staff, claiming the company was a waste of money.
There have also been concerns about the lack of content moderation and reinstatement of users who have been banned on the platform since the Musk takeover. A flood of post racists and anti-Semites have proliferated on the platform since the Musk takeover.
The billionaire has also launched a paid subscription for verification, in which users have to pay monthly for the blue verification flag. However, problems arose when a number of users impersonated prominent figures on the platform and the program was suspended as a result.
Musk posted a poll on Twitter Wednesday asking users if they think the platform should offer amnesty to suspended accounts as long as they haven’t broken any laws.
Musk reinstated Trump’s account last week after a slim majority of users in another poll indicated support for ending the former president’s suspension.

Scientists warn: Carbon is steadily compressing Earth’s upper atmosphere
Rising levels of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere could lead to a doubling of efforts to clean up our increasingly cluttered atmosphere.
Greenhouse gases have contributed significantly to the shrinking of the upper atmosphere, which scientists have assumed for decades, according to two new studies. And here, for the first time, it was really noticed.
Some of this observed decline is normal and will recover, but the scientists say the carbon dioxide contribution is likely to be permanent.
This means that failed satellites and other pieces of old technology in LEO are likely to stay in place longer as we loosen atmospheric drag, cluttering up the area and creating problems for new satellites and space observations.
“One of the results will be that satellites will last longer, which is great because scientists want their satellites to stay operational,” explains geospatial data scientist Martin Melengak of NASA’s Langley Research Center. potentially increase. It is possible that satellites and other valuable space objects will need to adjust their trajectory to avoid collisions.”
Descriptions of the earth’s atmosphere usually indicate layers at certain heights, but the truth is that the volume of gases surrounding our world is not constant, and it expands and contracts in response to various influences, perhaps the largest of which is the influence of the sun. .
The sun is also not stationary, it goes through cycles of activity, from maximum to minimum and back again, approximately every 11 years. We are currently in the middle of the 25th such cycle since the beginning of the reckoning, a cycle that began around December 2019.
The previous cycle #24 was unusually weak even at the peak of solar activity, which allowed Melengak and his colleagues to measure atmospheric deflation.
Their attention was focused on two layers, collectively known as the MLT: the mesosphere, which begins at an altitude of about 60 km, and the lower thermosphere, which begins at an altitude of about 90 km.
Data from NASA’s TIMED satellite, an observatory that collects data on the upper atmosphere, has provided the MLT with pressure and temperature information for almost 20 years, from 2002 to 2021.
In some of the lower atmosphere, carbon dioxide creates a warming effect by absorbing and re-radiating infrared radiation in all directions, effectively capturing some of it.
However, some of the infrared radiation emitted by carbon dioxide escapes into space, effectively carrying heat away and cooling the upper atmosphere. The more carbon dioxide, the colder the atmosphere.
Scientists warn that incessant carbon is compressing Earth’s upper atmosphere https://t.co/yhfK8pyD9v
— ScienceAlert (@ScienceAlert) November 22, 2022
“We already knew that this cooling leads to compression of the stratosphere,” the team noted. “Now we can see that the same thing happens with the mesosphere and the thermosphere above it.” Using TIMED data, Melniak and his team found that the MLT had decreased by about 1333 meters. Approximately 342 meters of them were formed as a result of radiative cooling caused by carbon dioxide.
“It was very interesting to see if we could actually observe this cooling and contraction of the atmosphere,” says Mlenjak. “Finally, we presented these observations in this paper. We are the first to show this kind of atmospheric contraction, on a global basis.”
Given that the thermosphere extends over several hundred kilometers, 342 meters may not sound like much. However, a paper published last September by physicist Ingrid Knusen of the British Antarctic Survey in the UK showed that atmospheric cooling could lead to a 33% reduction in atmospheric drag by 2070.
Atmospheric drag is what helps satellites and rocket stages get into orbit after their mission is complete. Knussen found that this cloud reduction could extend the lifespan of extinct space debris by 30 percent by 2070.
As more satellites are launched into low Earth orbit, this problem will only increase, and there are no real mitigation measures in sight – neither to reduce the number of satellites, nor to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide.

Will the next epidemic come from the North Pole?
Scientists say the ancient virus, frozen in the permafrost of Siberia 48,500 years ago, is the oldest known to date.
It comes from seven types of viruses found in permafrost that have been reanimated after thousands of years of freezing.
The smallest of these has been in a frozen state for 27,000 years, and the oldest, called pandoravirus yedoma, has been in a frozen state for 48,500 years. Although viruses generally do not pose a threat to humans, scientists warn that those that appear with thaws can be “catastrophic” and lead to new epidemics.
“48,500 years is a world record,” said Jean-Michel Claverie, a virologist at Aix-Marseille University in France.
Pandoravirus is a genus of giant viruses that was first discovered in 2013 and is the second largest physical size of all known virus genera after pitoviruses.
This 48,500-year-old specimen was found in permafrost 16 meters below the bottom of Lake Yukichi Alas in Yakutia, Russia.
Professor Claveri and his colleagues have previously resurrected two 30,000-year-old viruses from permafrost, the first of which was reported in 2014. All nine viruses are capable of infecting single-celled organisms known as amoebas, but not plants or animals. However, other frozen viruses can be extremely harmful to plants and animals, including humans.
About 65% of Russia’s territory is classified as permafrost – land that remains permanently frozen even during the summer months.
But as temperatures rise due to global warming, the eternal ice has now begun to melt, releasing things (bacteria, viruses, etc.) that have been frozen for thousands of years.
In recent years, the remains of a woolly rhinoceros, which became extinct about 14,000 years ago, and a 40,000-year-old wolf’s head, which is perfectly preserved as it still has fur, have been discovered.
And even an industry was born based on woolly mammoths, which became extinct about 10,000 years ago, when hunters hunt for unearthed skeletons to extract their tusks and sell them to ivory merchants.
But the discovery of such well-preserved specimens also raised concerns that pathogens that could have been carried by the animals could have been frozen with them and, unlike their hosts, could have survived the freeze-thaw effect.
Professor Claverie last year warned of “very compelling” evidence that “you can revive bacteria from deep permafrost.”
While the pitovirus, which had been frozen about 30,000 years before the experiment, is harmless to humans, Professor Claverie said that viruses frozen for that long could “wake up” and start re-infecting their host.
Scientists disagree on the exact age of the Arctic ice cap, the permafrost surrounding it, and therefore the age of the objects it contains.
But most of the unfrozen finds made so far are from the last ice age, roughly 115,000 to 11,700 years ago.
Professor Claverie and his colleagues stated in their paper that releasing live bacteria or archaea that have been in a state of cryptobiosis in permafrost for millions of years is a “potential public health problem.”
They added that “the situation will be more catastrophic in the event of plant, animal or human diseases caused by the resurgence of an old unknown virus.”
The Arctic is less densely populated than other parts of the world, but Prof Claverie said more people are now heading there to mine resources like gold and diamonds.
Unfortunately, the first step in extracting these resources is to remove the top layers of the permafrost, which exposes people to viruses.
“It is impossible to estimate how long these viruses can remain infectious after exposure to external conditions (ultraviolet light, oxygen, heat) and how likely they are to encounter a suitable host and infect it in this period of time,” the scientists say. the risk should increase with global warming, when permafrost thaw continues to accelerate and more people live in the Arctic as a result of industrialization.”
These nine viruses are described in more detail in a new preliminary document, which has not yet been reviewed, on the bioRxiv server.
Glacier meltwater can transmit pathogens to new hosts, turning parts of the Arctic into “hotbeds for new epidemics.”

Cannabis from a drug to the savior of mankind from a climate catastrophe!
Hemp plants may be the missing player in humanity’s fight against climate change, as hemp can absorb twice as much carbon dioxide from the air as trees.
Numerous studies have shown that hemp traps up to 16 tons of greenhouse gases annually, while trees absorb about six tons.
Carbon dioxide is also permanently encapsulated in hemp fibers used in products ranging from textiles to medicines to auto parts.
Hudson Carbon, a New York-based think tank that studies carbon storage, found that one acre of hemp can store up to three tons of carbon, removing more than seven tons from the atmosphere. While the United States represents only five percent of the world’s population, the country is responsible for 28 percent of the world’s carbon emissions.
“Roughly speaking, if the US plants 50 million acres of hemp, we will be capturing several hundred million tons of carbon per year in that area,” said Lancaster Farming Ben Dobson, founder and president of Hudson Carbon in Hudson.
Hemp, or industrial hemp, is a variety of the agricultural hemp (sativa) plant, but contains an insufficient amount of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) compared to marijuana, a different type.
Considered “nature’s purifier,” the plant draws toxins from the air and permanently traps them in its fibers, according to Pebble Mag.
It also absorbs carbon from the air as it grows, making it a carbon negative crop.
While other crops like cotton require at least 1,500 gallons of water per pound of production, hemp requires less than half that amount of water but produces more than 200 percent of the fiber on the same land, according to Rebecca Shaman, managing director of Hemp. Alliance British.
Hemp is also an incredibly fast growing plant, taking just four months to reach maturity. The plant has become an important source of bioplastics, construction and biofuels.
In addition to cleaning the air from greenhouse gases, hemp plants absorb carcinogenic heavy metals such as lead, mercury and cadmium from the soil, which is suitable for agricultural crops used for food.
Researchers at Penn State conducted a “meta-analysis” of previous studies looking at the ability of the cannabis plant to absorb heavy metals.
They report that some cannabis strains have been specifically bred for “phytoremediation” – growing plants to remove contaminants from the soil.
But it risks introducing heavy metals into the cannabis crop that people harvest and then smoke, potentially causing cancer and neurological problems.

Apple Engineer Addresses New AirPods Pro’s Lack of Lossless Support
In a recent interview, an Apple engineer talked about the lossless audio support in the second-generation AirPods Pro.
Apple’s audio products do not currently support Apple Music Lossless audio because of the Bluetooth technology used in the AirPods lineup. Apple has previously suggested that it might create a codec and connectivity standard that expands on AirPlay and supports higher-quality audio streaming. Still, the company needs to take action in this direction.
Lossless streaming is available on Apple Music in 24-bit and up to 48 kHz, as well as high-res lossless, which requires an external D/A converter and goes up to 192 kHz.
During a discussion with What Hi-Fi? According to Apple engineer Esge Andersen, a company’s acoustic team member, current Bluetooth technology is not a barrier to the AirPods’ ability to produce high-quality audio. Anderson continued by saying that Apple can still enhance audio quality. At the same time, the company focuses on dependability, even with current Bluetooth technology and codec standards.
While maintaining his duplicity, Andersen claims that audio quality is always a priority, “It’s crucial to realize that even without changing the codec, significant progress can still be made. The codec option we have available at the moment is more reliable. Making something durable in all environments is therefore important.”
“We can use many other factors to improve the sound quality. We don’t believe the codec constraints Bluetooth products’ audio quality.”
During the interview, Anderson looked at how Apple created the new second-generation AirPods Pro and how it validates sound quality. Anderson disclosed that Apple employs a group of “sound experts” who provide advice on audio quality to Apple’s engineers. Because you can’t yet make it ideal for everyone, but there must ultimately be some compromise.
Better Active Noise Cancellation is one of the biggest upgrades in the new second-generation AirPods Pro. Apple claims that the new AirPods Pro’s ANC is up to two times better than it was. According to Anderson, Apple was pressured to make this significant improvement because it wanted “to put an AirPods Max in everyone’s pocket.”

Apple Does Not Plan to Buy Manchester United
A source with knowledge of the situation claims that Apple has no immediate plans to buy Manchester United of the Premier League.
The Daily Star, a British tabloid, reported earlier today that Apple had indicated a desire to purchase Manchester United for about $7 billion. However, our source, who had firsthand knowledge of the events, asserted that the report was inaccurate.
The Glazer family has owned a majority of Manchester United since 2005. On Tuesday, the club announced that its board intended to “explore strategic alternatives,” which may include a possible club sale. The announcement that star player Cristiano Ronaldo would be leaving Manchester United also happened that day.
Apple has been pushing into sports content but has yet to make plans to purchase Manchester United. During the 2022 regular season, the company collaborated with the MLB to air a weekly “Friday Night Baseball” doubleheader on Apple TV+. It will serve as the sole distributor of MLS matches for the following ten years. According to reports, Apple is also favored to win the streaming rights to the NFL’s Sunday Ticket package starting in the upcoming season.

Politico: Chinese marches in Washington raise security concerns
Politico reports that many hundreds of Chinese-made drones have been spotted in Washington’s no-fly zones in recent months.
Politico wrote that US authorities and intelligence agencies fear that these devices will become a new tool for foreign espionage.
DJI hobby drones have software restrictions that prevent them from flying over government facilities in the US capital, such as the White House, the Capitol and the Pentagon. But the reality is that users can easily bypass these restrictions.
Politico notes that this issue is of concern to US lawmakers. Accordingly, many closed sessions were organized in the Senate with the participation of officials and specialists in the production of drones. However, it is not yet clear whether Congress will do something to counter this threat.
Rachel Table, spokesperson for the Stimson Think Tank, tells the newspaper: “There is a trend towards the use of drones for malicious purposes, as drones are being used ubiquitously in conflict zones and on the warfields in other regions.
Of course, you can limit yourself to collecting innocent, irregular data, or just opening up the world around you and watching what happens here and there. On the other hand, the possibility remains that drones pose a real danger.
The ease with which amateur users circumvent flight restrictions means that high-resolution cameras or other sensors can be bypassed to gather intelligence. This, in turn, allows foreign intelligence to collect data not only on ordinary citizens, but also on critical US infrastructure.
DJI’s association with Chinese leadership, which the company itself denies, raises suspicions with Senate Intelligence Committee vice chairman Marco Rubio, who told the newspaper: “Any technology product that is made in China at the government level or with Chinese companies involves real risks, and he can exploit the potential vulnerabilities we have that can be exploited now or in the event of a conflict.
The Pentagon banned the purchase of Chinese-made drones 5 years ago, but according to a 2020 study, thousands of federal and state security centers rely heavily on DJI drones.
More than 870,000 drones are currently registered in the US, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. This number is expected to reach 2.3 by 2024.
These ostensibly amateur planes are increasingly flying into restricted areas. Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security Samantha Winograd told senators that since 2018, the US Secret Service has shot down hundreds of drones that violated restrictions on flights meant to protect the president.
Winograd also warned that commercially available drones could “be used by hostile foreign intelligence agencies or criminals to gather intelligence, spy, steal secret technology and intellectual property, and carry out cyberattacks on wireless networks.” would have dire consequences for Secret facilities, defense industry organizations, and technology companies in the United States.
Another problem was the emergence of a large number of Chinese-made drones in the no-fly zones in Washington. Over the past 45 days, drones have carried out more than 100 “raids” into restricted areas, according to the government.
According to the publication, the US Senate is pushing a bipartisan bill that calls for expanding the powers of security services to detect drones that pose a potential security threat. The initiative also includes the creation of a database containing information on drone accidents in the US.

Russian scientists have created a bioreactor that mimics the digestive system of animals
Scientists at the Don Russian Technological University in Rostov have created a bioreactor that mimics the work of the digestive system of animals.
On Thursday, November 24, the press service of the university reported that the artificial digestive system, which has no analogues in Russia, will significantly increase the efficiency of preclinical studies of pharmacological preparations and nutritional supplements.
Alexander Lukyanov, head of the Department of Automation of Production Processes at the Don University, said that the uniqueness of the bioreactor invented by scientists lies, first of all, in its focus on studying digestion in animals, in contrast to devices designed to study human digestion. , Direct experiments with organisms to the simulation area, i.e. from the system in vivo, into the system in vitro, which not only simplifies and reduces the cost of the research process, but also makes it more ethical.”
In the bioreactor, the influence of pharmaceutical, food and biologically active additives on the microenvironment of animals and the pharmacokinetics of drugs in the gastrointestinal tract is studied. The bioreactor will allow testing the safety and efficacy of drugs and food supplements for the digestive tract of animals. Using the reactor, you can quickly determine the effectiveness of the tested drugs and supplements, as well as conduct clinical studies on animals using only drugs that have passed the preclinical stage and are completely safe for the gastrointestinal tract. intestinal tract. In addition, the reactor will reduce the financial and organizational burden on clinical trials.
One production of a bioreactor can be compared with the use of 10 to 40 animals in medical, preclinical and veterinary clinical studies, depending on the experimental conditions and mathematical expectations, said Igor Popov, head of the microdigestive bioreactor at the Don University. In this way, we save money for our partners, and at the same time, the study respects all the principles of humanity and ethics when conducting experiments, since fewer experimental animals are used.

Russia has the largest grape genetic database in the world
The head of the research center of the Russian Kurchatov Institute, Mikhail Kovalchuk, said that Russia has the largest genetic database of grapes in the world.
On this occasion, Kovalchuk said during the events of the first Russian forum of the wine industry: “During the year, the specialists of our center were able to decipher the genetic sequences of more than 200 grape varieties, and now we have the largest grape genetic database in the world.”
He added: “The use of genetic data allows us to quickly conduct scientific tests. For example, we can find out if a particular variety is frost-resistant, and that testing new grape varieties no longer takes 15 years, as it used to. the duration has become shorter, but this requires several years of research work.
The events of the first Russian forum of the wine industry will be held in the Russian capital Moscow from November 24 to 25 in the presence of representatives of the Russian government and representatives of Russian industrial and commercial institutions and scientific centers. The conference will discuss issues of strengthening the efforts of the Russian wine market and shaping the future of the local industry, issues of wine quality control and training to improve the industry, as well as market development prospects in a changing economic and geopolitical environment.

IS in a major change is coming to the “iPhone” phone, which will change it forever.. What is it?
In a secret move, the American giant “Apple” is working to make a major change in the design of the “iPhone 15”, the launch of which is scheduled for next September 2023.
It has been reported that Apple is working to replace the volume buttons on the iPhone 15 Pro. To be replaced by touch and vibration buttons, according to the British newspaper ‘The Sun’.
“The biggest change in next year’s new iPhone models is the removal of buttons,” wrote analysts at Barclays Research, explaining that a new chip could be added to the “iPhone” to handle these tactile buttons.
This news comes on the heels of an earlier statement by famed TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo last October that we’ll see touch volume buttons in the iPhone 15 Pro in addition to the power button.
Tactile buttons can improve water resistance and reduce wear and tear on your device by reducing moving parts.
And it seems unlikely that the change will make it to regular iPhone 15 models. It will only be available on the more expensive iPhone 15 Pro devices, according to insiders.
The source stressed that these are only leaks and “Apple” has not confirmed or denied this information.

How much does our Earth weigh?
New units of measurement have been officially introduced into the International System of Units, in addition to the kilogram, millimeter, tera and others, namely the rune, kita, ronto and ciktu.
So, now we have ronnagrams and kettagrams, as well as ronnameters and kettameters, as well as rontograms, kettagrams and kettameters. The rune means: billion x billion x billion. As for Ronto, it means: a billion out of a billion out of a billion.
And the units of measurement were updated for the first time in 30 years, as delegates voted to approve the new system at the General Conference on Weights and Measures, held at the Palace of Versailles.
In 1991, the prefixes zetta and yotta were introduced into the International System of Units of Measurement. To understand the scale, a kilometer, for example, is equal to 1000 meters, or rather, one and three zeros. The yotamata scale consists of 24 zeros after one, while the ronnameter or ronnagram actually contains 27 zeros after one.
Scientists first measured the weight of the globe, and it turned out that our Earth weighs 6 rongrams, which means 6,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 grams.
The giant of the solar system, Jupiter, did not fit into the unit of measurement of the ronogram. Now he weighs 2 kilograms (two and 30 zeros on the right).
Why do we need new units of measurement? – to make it more convenient to measure giant quantities, for example, cosmic distances or data volumes (iotabytes). On the other hand, in quantum physics, for example, it is necessary to measure very small quantities, where new units will also be useful.
Scientists and staff hope that humanity will have a sufficient number of new set-top boxes for the next 20-25 years.
