The site indicates that the largest European program for the construction of FREMM frigates began in 2002 and France and Italy participated in it. This type of ship was designed as a combat patrol ship capable of fighting various enemy targets, including land, sea and air targets. Capable of performing maritime surveillance and anti-piracy missions.
Each of the French FREMM ships is 142 meters long, 20 meters wide, and has a displacement of 6,000 tons. These ships can carry a crew of 133 people and travel at a speed of 27 knots. These ships are equipped with modern radars and anti-aircraft missiles, MM40 anti-ship missiles and 324 mm MU90 torpedo launchers.
