When will Apple say that iOS 17 is Coming?
At WWDC in June, Apple will talk about iOS 17. WWDC is Apple’s annual developer’s-developers conference, where the company shows off the newest versions of its operating systems for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Watch. The dates for WWDC 2023 have yet to be set, but the conference is usually held during the first week of June. This year, the week of June 5 is our best bet.

Apple will give developers a beta version of iOS 17 when the company announces it at WWDC in June. It will release a public beta sometime in July that all iPhone users can try out. Then, Apple will release iOS 17 to everyone sometime in September, likely at the same time as the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro lineups.
New Features
Apple hardware leaks months or years before it comes out, but software leaks happen less often. This is because most hardware leaks come from Apple’s huge supply chain and not from inside Apple. Apple can keep software leaks to a minimum because only a few company members know its plans.
So, the “big picture” of iOS 17 this year seems to be that it won’t have many new features.
Bloomberg has said that iOS 17 and Apple’s other software platforms are getting less attention while the company works on its AR/VR headset. Apple could also announce the headset at WWDC. It would be the company’s first significant new hardware and software platform since the Apple Watch.
Apple may be pulling hardware and software engineers from other parts of the company to work on developing headsets.
The code name for iOS 17 is said to be “Dawn,” and Apple is still working on and testing it before WWDC. Bloomberg says focusing on the Reality Pro headset and “iOS 16 snags” means the update “may have fewer major changes than was originally planned.”
