In a press release, the tech giant said its new products would have the most extended battery life of any iPhone, a dual-camera system, Emergency SOS via satellite, and Crash Detection.
There are also midnight, starlight, (PRODUCT)RED, blue, and purple phones, in addition to the new yellow ones.
The aerospace-grade aluminum is resistant to water and dust, and the front cover is made of a ceramic shield.
The internal design was changed to handle heavy workloads and high-powered gaming.
Both models have a Super Retina XDR display with OLED technology.
Apple says the A15 Bionic chip’s 5-core GPU makes graphics smoother and powers camera features like Photonic Engine.
Apple said the phones are also made to have as little environmental impact as possible. For example, the antenna lines are made from upcycled plastic water bottles, and all magnets are made from 100% recycled rare earth elements, 100% recycled tungsten is used in the Taptic Engine, 100% recycled tin is used in the solder of multiple printed circuit boards, and 100% recycled gold is used in the plating of numerous printed circuit boards and the wires of all cameras.
Apple aims to eliminate all plastic from its packaging by 2025, and fiber-based packaging doesn’t use plastic wrap on the outside.
