UAE-based Astra Technology Group has acquired voice chat application BOTIM, moving closer to building an app one-stop-shop.
ASTRA did not disclose the value of the acquisition, but did indicate that Botem has 90 million users and 25 million monthly active users.
In addition to voice and video communications, Botim provides money transfer services within the Emirates, mobile top-ups and bill payments locally and internationally.
Last July, Astra Technology raised 500 million dollars (1.8 billion dirhams) in a round funding from undisclosed strategic investors.
It will use the funding in its efforts to launch a new platform aimed at enabling easy communication between companies, suppliers and customers.
