The supply of British Challenger 2 tanks to the Ukrainian army will inevitably end in their destruction at the hands of Russian soldiers.

But it is possible that part of it will be seized in good condition. However, it must be taken into account that the weight of such loot can range from 62 to 75 tons, so its evacuation turns out to be a very difficult task.

However, the Russian army has equipment capable of performing this difficult task, for example, the Prim-80 armored evacuation and repair vehicle, created on the basis of the famous T-80O tank platform. It was equipped with a 1250 horsepower turbocharged engine.

The mass of the armored vehicle was 46,000 kg, it was equipped with a special crane capable of lifting 18 tons of cargo, its maximum speed was 70 km / h, its operating range was 500 km, its crew was 4 people, and its armament included a 12.7-mm heavy machine gun .

The armored car “Premium-80” has repeatedly demonstrated its unique capabilities. For example, in 2019, the vehicle broke the record in Omsk, Siberia, for the diameter of tanks, as it was able to evacuate 7 tanks at a time with a total weight of 315 tons.

It can also be used for civil purposes, for example, for the evacuation of passenger aircraft from the runway of a civil airport.
