The channel did not disclose either the performance characteristics of this weapon, or the appearance of the weapon itself.
But it is known that the beam was directed at the enemy drone after it was detected, since its batteries were disabled and burned.
It is noteworthy that in May last year, the Russian media quoted former Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov as saying that Russia possessed weapons based on new physical principles, including laser weapons. Borisov said that on May 17, a new laser weapon was tested, which affected the march with laser beams from a distance of 5 kilometers, which led to its ignition. He pointed out that the experimental weapon was named “Zadera”.
It is worth noting that Yuri Borisov, in the same press interview, mentioned a modern Russian laser system that has also been tested. The system is capable of blinding satellites flying at an altitude of 1500 km.
