The modern Russian strategic submarine Generalissimo Suvorov left the port of the Sevmash enterprise, where it was built.

And she made her first trip after the entry into service of the Russian Navy from the White Sea to the Barents Sea, and reached the main combat base of the Russian Northern Fleet, where her crew members will undergo the necessary training courses to continue servicing the submarine. and its subsequent use, then the submarine will head from under the ice of the Arctic Ocean towards the Kamchatka Peninsula – Russia’s main base in the Pacific Ocean.

The submarine belongs to the Borey-A strategic missile project with nuclear missiles of the Bulava type (meaning the obelisk). This does not mean that all submarines of this type are the same in design and armament. The Generalissimo Suvorov is considered one of the most advanced and modern strategic submarines, and her fuselage was covered with a thin layer of rubber to increase her underwater speed and ability to hide from water radars. It is worth noting that the Generalissimo Suvorov submarine is the second submarine carrying nuclear missiles under the Purekh-A project and the sixth submarine of the Purekh project as a whole.

Russian President Vladimir Putin at the ceremony of introducing the submarine into the Russian Navy said that in the coming years it is planned to build 4 more submarines of this project. Submarines of this project are equipped with Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles with a range of 9,000 km.

The construction of the submarine began in 2014 at the Russian shipbuilding plant Sevmash, and after the commissioning of the Russian Navy, it will be used in the Pacific Fleet.
