Best Android Tablet For 2023

Choosing the best Android tablets is tricky because there are many different sizes, features, and ways to use them. To rank below, they need to have the perfect mix of price, features, design, and how well it works.

Over the years, we’ve used and reviewed a lot of Android tablets, so we know what to look for when trying to find the best ones. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is the best, but if money is tight, one of the best cheap tablets from Amazon or a mid-range brand like Xiaomi, Realme, or Honor may be better.

We’ve written down all the pros and cons and who they’re best for to help you find what you need.

The Best Android Tablets For 2023

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is the best Android tablet you can get, but not everyone will like its huge 14.6-inch screen. It’s bigger than even the biggest iPad Pro, and the S Pen stylus that comes with it makes it a great tool for making art, editing documents, taking notes, and other work-related tasks.

The screen is sharp at 1848 x 2960 and smooth at 120Hz. The Tab S8 Ultra’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset gives it much power. It also has a great 12MP ultra-wide camera on the front, making it an excellent device for video calls.

Our review impressed us by its four speakers, large storage, and high-quality but fragile-feeling design. This means that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has everything. You can buy a keyboard case if you want to use it like a laptop. But because it’s so big, it’s more challenging to carry around than some other slates, and it sure is pricey.

Lenovo Yoga Tab 13

The Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 differs from most tablets, which helps it stand out. The slate works excellent as a regular tablet, but it also has a built-in stand so you can prop it up without a case and a micro HDMI port so you can easily use it as a second screen for a laptop or other device, both of which we found very useful.

The Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 also has a prominent speaker for a tablet, which makes it great for anything that needs to play sound. You also get a big 13-inch screen with a resolution of 1350 x 2160, a Snapdragon 870 chipset that isn’t too slow, and a good amount of storage space.

What you don’t get is a back camera, which is also unusual, but tablets could be better for taking photos, to begin with, and the way it’s made makes it hard to use with a case. Still, this is the Android tablet to get if you want a kickstand or micro HDMI.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus

When it came out, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus was the best tablet Samsung had ever made. It’s still great now and a serious competitor to the iPad Pro line. Its 12.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 2800 x 1752 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate might be better than those tablets. The iPad Pro line can do many of the same things, but those tablets have LCD screens, which could be better than this one.

The Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus also gives you much power. It gave us the smoothest Android tablet experience we’d ever had at launch. Plus, it is made of high-quality metal and is only 5.7mm thick.

There is also a 5G model for fast mobile data, and the slate comes with Samsung’s S Pen stylus. If you add a keyboard sold separately, this is a potent tool for work. Even without that, this slate is high-quality and great for media.

Lenovo Tab P11 Pro

Samsung has been the leader in high-end Android tablets for a long time, but the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro is now giving it a run for its money. Lenovo isn’t known for its Android tablets, but with the Tab P11 Pro, it has made a real competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus.

This tablet has an 11.5-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1600 x 2560, so it’s big, clear, and full of powerful OLED tech. It also works with HDR10, making it a joy to watch content. The only thing that was a letdown was that it only had a 60Hz refresh rate. With its loud quad-speakers and long-lasting 8,600mAh battery, the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro is a remarkable media machine. It’s also a great travel companion.

The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro is made of a nice-looking metal and can be used with a keyboard and a stylus. This makes it a good productivity tool, but it needs to be better than a typical laptop. We didn’t love how it ran or how good its cameras were, but for the price, which was surprisingly low, we can live with those flaws.

Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021)

The Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021) might not be the best Android tablet, but it has a lot going for it, like a nice 10.1-inch screen with a 1920 x 1200 resolution. It’s perfect for watching your favorite movies or TV shows, especially since the battery lasts about 12 hours, so you won’t run out of power at a crucial time.

In our review, we were also pretty happy with how good the speakers were for the price, so this is a good media machine for the money. The only storage options are 32GB or 64GB, and we’d like faster performance since the chipset was already a bit old when it came out, but for this price, it’s okay.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

Happy to give up a few of the Galaxy Tab S6’s features in exchange for a cheaper tablet? The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite might be your best Android tablet. The chipset is better than its sibling’s, the cameras aren’t as good, and the screen could be more lovely. However, it costs about half as much, and its specs are still good for a tablet at this price.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a very good product for how much (or, say, how little) you pay. We were especially impressed by how well it was made and the fact that it came with a stylus. It’s not much smaller than the Galaxy Tab S6, and ironically, it’s also heavier, but if you don’t want to spend much money, this might be perfect for you.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 isn’t the newest model, but it’s still a great Android tablet with many great features. It comes with an S Pen stylus that you can use to write, draw, and do many other things on the tablet’s screen. You can also buy an intelligent keyboard, making it feel more like a laptop.

One of the best things about the Galaxy Tab S6 is its 10.5-inch AMOLED screen, which has an excellent resolution of 1600 x 2560. This tablet also has two cameras on the back, which are pretty good for a tablet. This means you can take better photos with this tablet than with many other slates. It could be a better device because it doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack, and the user interface could be better, but it’s still a great Android tablet.

Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020)

If you choose the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) instead of the Plus model, you’ll get a little less RAM and no wireless charging, but otherwise, you’ll get a nearly identical tablet for less money. It’s better than its predecessor because it has 30% more power, a longer battery life, twice as much storage, and a USB-C port instead of a micro USB port. However, this is the same thing if you’ve used an Amazon tablet.

We didn’t like how clear the screen was, and you must use Amazon’s services, which are better than full-fat Android. But if you have Amazon Prime, your content will be front and center, and you’ll pay much less than most of the best Android tablets.

How to Decide Which Android Tablet is Best For You

When buying a tablet, size and price are the two most important things to consider. Think about whether you want the giant screen possible, which is suitable for media and work, or a smaller one that is easier to carry around.

Think about how much you can and want to spend. Most of the time, you can save money if you don’t need the most power.

Other things to consider are the screen resolution (the higher, the better) and the battery life. A longer battery life is better, but how important that is will depend on whether you plan to use your tablet mostly at home (where you can always plug it in) or when you’re out and about (where you might have to rely heavily on the battery).

If you want to use your tablet for work or creative projects, you should check to see if it can work with a keyboard or stylus and if it comes with one.
