Alexei Yemelyanov, head of the Department of Cultural Heritage of Moscow, said that archaeologists had found a round cannonball from the war of 1812 in New Moscow.
And he says: “Scientists at the site of the Tarutino battles found a round cannonball dating back to the days of the Patriotic War of 1812 and it does not pose any danger.”
It is reported that in 2022, archaeologists conducted a study of 959 archaeological sites in Moscow, with a total area of more than 10,000 square meters, including excavations on the streets of Moscow: Ilyinka, Sretenka, Belaya Polyanka, Kosmodemyanskaya, Savinskaya, Prospekt Mira, Tverskaya and Tverskoy Boulevard.
He added: “We expect the number of archaeological sites to be explored in 2023 to increase compared to the current year.”
He notes: “During excavations in 2022, archaeologists discovered about 12,000 artifacts, including kilns from between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries, caviar boxes dating from the nineteenth century, and a bottle of wine dating back to 1817, as well as ceramic toys for decorating the Christmas tree.Christmas and others.
