What’s the reason behind buying old Apple phones that may surprise you?

Phone manufacturers and carriers mobile they are so obsessed with getting your old phone, what do they do with it and resell it?

According to a report published in the Wall Street Journal, telecommunications companies buy your old iPhone, refurbish it and sell it in followed, but the process goes through several stages.

Do you delete your data?

The data is scanned, cleaned and two-thirds of the phones that reach wholesalers’ facilities are sold, with another portion going to companies that specialize in cleaning, restoring and selling these phones to buyers in “Amazon” or “Backmarket”, which is a famous marketplace for used phones.

The renewal process begins with the deletion and sorting of data, where a software special removes all data left by the previous owner.

The workers then perform gods test on the machine to make sure everything is working like microphone, speakers, screen, camera, buttons, radio wireless and so via.

How do you come back again?

During this phase, they also test the batteries: devices with a battery health of 80% or less, i.e. their energy holding capacity has decreased by 20% or more, are set aside to be resold at a low cost elsewhere.

To clean the devices, workers use toothbrushes to get into crevices, plastic tools to remove stickers, hand sanitizers and cloths in microfiber to clean screens.

Price setting

The phone is then examined and a score is given in so you can determine a price, in based on how clean and scratch-free the device is.

Afterwards, the staff slipped the phone clean in a padded bag and attached a box containing a new charging cable.

A phone sales site like Backmarket usually rates refurbished products, depending on their final grade, at 20% to 30% in less than the retail price of the same phone bought new.
