And the company “WhatsApp” provided an urgent warning about a deceptive message on the “WhatsApp” application, after it received a large number of user complaints, explaining that they had received messages from strange numbers, asking them to perform certain tasks in exchange for an amount of money, but they are deceptive messages aimed at Obtaining their personal and financial data to steal them.
And the users of “WhatsApp” stated in their complaint that the deceptive messages they receive are often from numbers from the countries of India, Pakistan and Vietnam asking them to do a specific order in exchange for obtaining money through international money transfer applications, and that once they respond to the messages and implement what is required of them, the matter turns into a fraud. The famous application responded to the complaints of its users, through the “Stories” feature, asking them to report such messages as soon as they receive them, by following the following steps:

Earn money by cheating
In its response to user complaints, “WhatsApp” indicated that the fraud through its application is nothing but an illegal plan to earn money by deceiving people to reveal their personal or financial information, and that there are several ways that fraudsters follow to steal personal data of users, blackmail them and steal their money, including that The scammer sends a message to a user of the app claiming to be his relative and starts chatting with him, and then asks him to send an amount of money.
Real Incident
And a WhatsApp user named Alison documented her exposure to this deceptive trick, explaining that she had received a message that the sender claimed to be her son, in which he said: Hello, Mom, I dropped my phone in the toilet, and this is my new number, and he asked her the next day to send him an amount of 2600 pounds sterling (about $3,600), because he needs to pay off a specific loan.
Although the mother tried to call the number several times to talk to her son and check on him, every time a stranger answered her telling her that her son could not talk and trying to help her expedite the transfer of money, but she almost fell into the trap, had she not accidentally forgotten to click on Final payment confirmation.
