WABetaInfo reported that the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone includes a feature that allows users to convert the voice message in written text.

The source explained that the feature is reassuring for privacy lovers and will only work on text processing on the device and will not be uploaded to ‘WhatsApp’ servers.

However, this feature will face some hurdles, according to technology specialists, in how much the function will not be in able to provide a written text when it is not in able to process the voice message, if it is spoken in a language that is not registered in its database.

It has not yet been determined when this feature will roll out to Android phones and when it will roll out to everyone.

It is noteworthy that the “Telegram” application, which is considered one of the most important competitors of WhatsApp, provides a service for converting video and voice messages in written texts. This service is offered to subscribers of the “Premium” service. While, the feature will be available to all WhatsApp users without exception.

It was reported that WhatsApp was also testing the link preview feature in status (Link Previews on Status) which allows users to see a visual preview of the content of links participating in status updates, in similar to what happens when you share links in chats. He said the visual previews improve the look of statuses and also give contacts a better idea of ​​the link before clicking on it.

He also added that it has started rolling out new features to users globally and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.

Users can download WhatsApp application for Android via Google Play Store and for iOS system via Apple App Store. The application can also be downloaded for other mobile devices and desktops via its official website.
