On Friday, Jordanian General Security announced that it had temporarily suspended the “Tik Tok” platform from operating within the country “after it was used in improperly” during the truckers’ strike that resulted in the death of a police colonel.
Before the official announcement, users of the “Tik Tok” application in Jordan reported that it had completely stopped since Friday morning.
The application has seen the release of many video clips of the transport truckers’ strike, with interactive and enthusiastic songs for acts of sabotage and road closures.
The Jordanian Public Security Cybercrime Unit has announced that the Cybercrime Unit and teams are monitoring what is posted on social media, in particularly in regards to hate speech, inciting vandalism and assaults on law enforcement, property and checkpoints.
And he explained in a statement that the competent authorities will refer anyone who commits such crimes to the judiciary.

Jordanian Government Communications Minister Faisal Al-Shboul said the cabinet condemned this treacherous and cowardly attack and stressed that the hand of justice would extend to the killers and refer them to a fair judiciary to receive their retribution.
The Senate has called for an iron fist to strike anyone who tries to foment riots, carry out acts of vandalism, undermine the rule of law and threaten the security of the homeland and citizens.
People’s circles across the governorates denounced such actions, demanding disclosure of Colonel Al Dalabeh’s killer and assassin.
