Russian armored forces participating in the Russian special military operation in Ukraine received a batch of modern T-90M tanks, “Prorev”.
This was announced on Tuesday, December 20, by an official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, who said that a batch of modernized tanks “T-90M, Prorev” entered service with one of the tank formations participating in a special military operation. The crew members of these tanks are now being trained to carry out combat missions and to fire from open and hidden areas from all types of weapons available on the tank. Drivers are also trained to drive the tank in combat conditions.
It is noteworthy that the T-90M Prorev is the newest tank in the T-90 family of tanks and the most adapted to the conditions of modern combat. This was made possible by equipping it with protection devices from all directions and an automatic fire control system that can be used day and night, which are measures that increase the tank’s combat capability.
The tank received a new turret, different from the classic T-90 turret, and a more powerful 1130 hp engine. The Borev tank was also equipped with a 125-mm cannon, which provides the use of ammunition with a huge lethal force, as well as a missile that destroys enemy tanks at a distance of up to 5 kilometers, day and night. In addition, the new tank has the ability to exchange information with other tanks in the online system, which is an important distinguishing characteristic of the tactical characteristics of the tank, consistent with the conditions of battles within the central network.
