At the 19th International Olympiad for Schoolchildren in Natural Sciences, which ended in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, the Russian team won 5 gold medals and one silver medal.
There were 6 students in our team, 5 of which represented Moscow, Moscow Region, Kazan and the Russian Republic of Mordovia, won 5 gold medals, and student Andrey Konstantinov from Moscow Region won a silver medal.
In total, there were 20 gold medals at the Olympics, a quarter of them were won by Russian schoolchildren.
In addition, the Russian team took second place in the team standings, the participants of which had to solve a test task. The Russian team included Proud Golubtsov, Mikhail Petrov and Ekaterina Dorofeeva.
There were 3 roles in the competition: experimental, theoretical and experimental roles. Participants of each role were presented with tasks in 3 subjects: physics, mathematics and biology.
It is reported that professors of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology took part in teaching students and preparing them for the International Olympiad.
It is also worth noting that the previous 18th Olympiad in Natural Sciences was held last year in Dubai, where the Russian team won 6 gold medals.
The winners of the Olympiad are usually awarded a prize fund in the amount of 400 thousand to one million rubles.
