The Ukrainians showed a new innovative technology by installing an 80-mm unguided rocket launcher on the American M1152A1 Humvee all-wheel drive platform.
The range of these systems, firing S-8 unguided missiles, is from 1300 to 4000 meters. There are types of warheads, the most common of which are high-explosive fragmentation and HEAT rounds.
It is noteworthy that these unguided rockets were used by Soviet strike aircraft in Afghanistan in the 1980s and in other wars and armed conflicts.
The Ukrainian innovative technology was named “Sifalka”, it has 16 tubes. There is no information about their use in actual field combat, but it is assumed that they can be subjected to immediate return fire, given their relatively short range.
It is noteworthy that similar rocket launchers were previously installed on the platforms of Japanese-made pickup trucks. As for the 122-mm Grad launchers, they were installed on the German Unimog all-wheel drive platform.
