The best gaming keyboards have excellent performance and a great feel, which will help you get to the top of the leaderboards. Gaming keyboards are supposed to make your gaming experience better and faster than other keyboards so that you can respond more quickly, but only a few can do that.
We’ve tested the best keyboards for gaming and everything else, and since most of us are serious PC gamers, we know which ones are worth your money and which ones you should avoid, no matter what kind of gaming you like.
There is a perfect gaming keyboard for everyone, whether you want a full 104-key keyboard with a Numpad, macro buttons, touch bars, and LED displays or the best mini keyboard for gaming with a small footprint.
We’ve even put together a list of the best deals on gaming keyboards, so you know where to look for the best prices on the gaming keyboard you want.
The Best Gaming Keyboard for 2023
Asus ROG Strix Scope
Asus has a lot of gaming keyboards that haven’t been used yet, and they’ve turned out to be some of the best. The Asus ROG Strix Scope shows how good its mechanical skills are without all the cheap thrills that competitors offer. This doesn’t have a lot of extra features, but it gets the job done when it comes to important things.
When we put it to the test, it turned out to be very comfortable, quieter than other mechanical gaming keyboards we’ve tried, and just as fun to mash buttons on. And the way it works is really responsive.
It’s not as beautiful as some of the other options on this page because Asus went with a simpler design. But the RGB lighting can be changed, and if you’re tired of the same old black, it also comes in white. Plus, if you already have a lot of Asus ROG accessories, it will fit right in.
Razer fans no longer have to wait because the brand’s first low-profile gaming keyboard is now on sale. Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro is the first mouse in Razer’s low-profile line. It has great specs, like a short travel distance of 2.8mm and a short actuation of 1.2mm, which helped it get into this form factor market (if you get the linear optical version). You could say it’s a worse, better version of the Logitech G915, which is a very popular mouse.
Even though we haven’t finished testing this keyboard yet, we’re already impressed with how comfortable it is. As usual for Razer, it’s strong and very flexible, with three ways to connect (Bluetooth, USB wired, and 2.4GHz wireless), quick-access buttons that let you switch from one input to the other quickly, and a design that lets you program every key.
The low-profile design is also a treat, as are the low-profile floating keycaps, which really show off the best of the Chrome RGB lighting, which can be changed in a lot of ways. Lastly, this might be one of the best keyboards for gaming right now, but it’s also a joy to use for work.
Corsair K70 Pro Mini Wireless
The Corsair K70 Pro Mini Wireless has a crazy number of personalization options for such a small keyboard. It costs a lot, like many 60% gaming keyboards on the market. But there’s a lot of value packed into the package, from the features to how well it works.
During testing, we found that its battery life of up to 200 hours, depending on the connection, is similar to that of Razer’s BlackWidow V3 Mini Hyperspeed. Its excellent performance shows that it can keep up with fast-paced shooters like Doom Eternal. Not that it’s a surprise since it polls every 8,000Hz.
Features include swappable buttons, 50 programmable profiles, and compatibility with Microsoft and Sony’s current-generation consoles. This is in addition to these mini keyboards’ usual RGB customization and macro programming. So, yes, it’s expensive, but every penny is worth it.
Corsair K100 RGB
Optical-mechanical keys have replaced regular mechanical ones. Gaming keyboards like the powerful Corsair K100 RGB have the best of both worlds. They have the speed and durability of optical switches and the satisfying feel of mechanical keys.
This gaming keyboard is fast, lasts a long time, and is fun to use. During our tests, its high actuation point, 4,000Hz polling rate, and consistent key presses made it an excellent choice for fast-paced games. This mix of good game performance and quick shortcuts could be enough to get it, especially for streamers.
There’s more to enjoy here, of course. There are a lot of features, like a USB passthrough, six macro keys, an iCUE control wheel with multiple functions, and that excellent RGB lighting. It’s not a cheap gaming keyboard, but it has many features for the price.
SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL (2023)
The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL might be the TKL gaming keyboard with the most features and ways to customize it. But it’s also a great performer that makes you feel great and can help you win.
The omnipotent 2.0 switches are even better than their predecessors. They respond 11 times faster and can be pressed ten times faster than their predecessors. On top of that, the actuation can be changed from 0.2mm to 3.8mm, and the dual actuation lets you set up two actuations per key.
We found this gaming keyboard to be very fast and responsive, with switches that have a satisfying mechanical feel without being too loud. This makes it a great deal for most people. Add to that its unique features that are hard to find in other games, and you have a great investment in gaming even though it’s a little bit pricey.
Roccat Vulkan TKL Pro
Who needs a big keyboard when there are TKL gaming keyboards like the Roccat Vulkan TKL Pro? This small gaming keyboard is one of the best in terms of performance, comfort, and looks. It has a stylish brushed gunmetal finish and floating keys that show off its customizable RGB lighting in a significant way.
The Titan optical switches from Roccat are not only quick and accurate but also satisfying, quiet, and intense. During testing, it did everything perfectly. It turned out to be very quick and responsive, and the 1.4mm actuation meant that my fingers didn’t have to work hard. People with light fingers will like that they don’t have to press the keys all the way down for them to work.
And remember the guarantee that the optical switch will last long. With a rating of 100 million keystrokes and aircraft-grade aluminum used to strengthen the deck, this gaming keyboard will last you a long time. It will cost you a lot, but it’s well worth it.
Logitech G915 TKL Lightspeed
The G915 TKL lives up to its name by giving you the speed you need for epic gaming without tying you down with cables. With a polling rate of 1,000Hz and a distance of 1.5 mm to act, it can keep up with its wired setup.
It was fast, responsive, and accurate during testing, and it was fun to push buttons on. This is because the keys only need 50g of force to be pressed and have a short actuation distance, so you don’t have to work hard to get all your presses to register.
It also has an extended wireless range and a good battery life, especially considering how beautiful the RGB lighting is. The best part is that it’s a beautiful keyboard with floating keys low to the ground and a brushed aluminum deck. This is, without a doubt, one of the best gaming keyboards out there. It fits on a small desk and is easy to take with you.
