30 whales killed in southern Argentina

The Whale Conservation Institute says the number of whales found dead in southern Argentina has risen to 30.

“The number of (dead) whales has increased to 30,” the institute said.

He added that 26 large whales and 4 small whales were found.

And local media previously reported the death of 18 whales. The body of the first of them was found on September 24 of the last.

Experts are currently investigating the cause of the accident. In particular, the possibility of poisoning whales from harmful algal blooms is being investigated, as samples of plankton and bivalves from the region have been found to contain very high levels of biotoxins.
