Google Adds New Scheduling Features to Gmail with Google Calendar Integration
On Tuesday, Google released new scheduling-related features for Gmail with Google Calendar integration including quick event creation and easy availability sharing.
Gmail users can now enjoy enhanced scheduling capabilities with the integration of Google Calendar. The new features aim to simplify the process of creating events and sharing availability with recipients.
Create Events with Ease
The introduction of a calendar icon at the bottom of the conversation view makes creating events a breeze. With just a click, users can generate a Google Calendar event with the email subject as the event name. Additionally, the recipients of the email are automatically added as participants. This feature eliminates the need to go through the three-dot menu, streamlining the event creation process.
Effortlessly Share Availability
Google also introduced a new availability-sharing feature that allows users to share their free slots with recipients. By opening the calendar in the sidebar, users can simply drag slots from different days and share them with ease. While it is possible to share availabilities with multiple people via email, only the first person to accept a slot will be automatically added to the invite.
This new feature provides Gmail users with a convenient alternative to various scheduling tools such as Calendly, Cal.com, Amie, and Vimcal. Now, booking 1:1 meetings and sharing availability has never been easier.
Continued Expansion of Google Calendar Features
Google Calendar has been on a roll with continuously releasing useful features. In addition to the latest integration with Gmail, Google Calendar now supports paid meetings and better work location information sharing.
The integration with Stripe allows freelancers to seamlessly conduct paid meetings by integrating their Stripe account with Google Calendar. This feature provides a convenient solution for freelancers who need to charge for their time.
Furthermore, the recent release of the work location information sharing feature enables hybrid workers to indicate their current work location. Based on the time of day, users can specify whether they are working from home, the office, or any other location. This feature serves as a useful tool for efficient coordination and remote work flexibility.
Overall, Google’s continuous improvements to Gmail and Google Calendar aim to enhance user productivity and improve the overall scheduling experience. With the new scheduling-related features, users can easily create events, share availability, and manage their busy schedules more efficiently than ever before.
