Apple is believed to be on track to release an iPad Pro with OLED in 2024 and has pushed back the release of another product to do so.
Early in 2023, reports said that Apple was planning to add new display technology to the iPad Pro line. Even though the present models have Mini LED displays, there were rumors about how adopting OLED technology could be helpful.
Apple already uses OLED technology in some iPhone and Apple Watch models, and adding it to the iPad Pro could make many changes for the better. Apple is still on track to release an OLED iPad Pro in 2024, according to a story from The Elec on Friday.
In the first quarter of 2024, Apple will start making 11-inch and 13-inch OLED iPads. These will be the first iPads to use OLED technology. These OLED iPads will use low-temperature multi-crystalline oxide (LTPO) thin film transistor (TFT) technology and a mixed OLED design with a glass plate and a thin film layer.
By switching to an OLED monitor, you can get more vibrant colors, faster response times, better power efficiency, and wider viewing angles, among other things.
At the same time, the story says that Apple has pushed back the release of its 13-inch and 15-inch OLED MacBooks until 2027. The technology behind these screens may need more advanced ways to make them, and the story says that Apple is putting most of its attention on the iPad Pro for now.
